Introduction
Acrobatics is as much sports as it is interactive yoga, as dance, playing together and much more. Most in dyades or trio-forms, but also as experiences for the whole group. Together with the group we will learn how to move together by enhancing autonomy and learning to connect and bind these autonomous persons in a togetherness of form and movement; always trying to find and show the beauty of it. It might be confronting, because it is working together very close and one cannot withdraw from the acro-partner without losing the necessary contact. Same time it is very very rewarding to grow together, have fun together and accept that it only works if it works for both.
Short biography

Born in 1952. Studied social and organisational psychology, with focus on how people learn in groups. Always searching for the steering spirit that grows in and guides groups. The seventies, when I studied, was the decade of sensitivity- and interaction- training with biodynamics, drama and gestalt techniques to grow; meditation and other spiritual help to find ones own way in life. I took it with me in my work as communication-trainer in profit and non-profitworlds.
I started my acrobatic career in the dutch "Como-Brother-School" and passed their exams in the early eighties. Many other teachers had their influence too. During many years I performed with the trio "Drie Hoog Achter" in streets, festivals and theaters in western Europe. In various duo's and groups still perfoming and combining acrobatics now with my skills as a social-psychologist in teambuilding work and in my "acro-talk-show".
For more than twenty years I'm teaching acrobatics in various settings and levels of weekly groups, festivals and special groups . Because of my varied background the concern in the lessons is not only the technique but also the way of working together and the fluent connection between forms. In the long history of teaching and performing I developed a lot of new movements and technical details that found their way in the world of partner acrobatics.
Since the early nineties I call this type of acrobatics: interactive yoga and I try to live it like that. I use acrobatics and my social psychology-background to help people to learn to work together. To feel each others potential and tension brings unescapable insight. Developing acrobatic skills helps you to develop interactive skills for various situations. Some principles grew clear during my work and I like to mention some of them:
-to make a balance together, you have to leave your individual balance (i.e. you first have to know what your own balance is) and accept the interdependance to enjoy the common balance.
-if you have tension in your body that is not functional for the common balance or movement, your partner will feel it as 'hostile' and it will not be productive
-the clearer your profile as a person, the more honest the way of working together
-do not force; lure
-do not control; provide
-do not prescribe; say what you need and many more
